Machane Yehuda

Machane Yehuda, a central Jerusalem neighborhood, was established in 1887. Its main attraction is the open air market dating back to 1928. With 600 vendors, the Machane Yehuda "shuk" is still the largest in all of Israel. The neighborhood is rich in Jerusalem's history and embraces all the largest religious groups found in Israel's capital throughout the years. Some of the most sizable and respected yeshivot are found within the perimeters of this colorful neighborhood.
